We had been navigating the IEP process for a few years, but I still felt like something was missing. I knew my son wasn’t getting everything he needed, but I didn’t know what to do next. Reaching out to Katie was one of the best decisions I made. She went through all of my son’s evaluations, report cards, and IEP with me. She explained everything in a way that actually made sense and pointed out things I never would have known on my own. She helped me understand what questions to ask and what supports my son should be getting. She also connected me with an amazing advocate who attended our school meetings with us while Katie continued to help behind the scenes. I truly don’t think we would have gotten the changes to my son’s IEP without Katie’s guidance and support. Katie is incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and easy to talk to. She genuinely cares about helping kids and their families. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by the IEP process or you just have a feeling your child needs more support, I highly recommend reaching out to her. I’ll always be grateful that I did.Posted on Google Valerie FentonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Our family would highly recommend working with Katie. My son Dylan is a whirlwind, always moving a thousand miles a minute and super distractible. I told Katie she’s one of the only people he doesn’t complain about seeing, which is the highest compliment I can give. He came to her with a huge gap in reading and spelling that was really tough to manage on our own. Katie stays calm and cool even when he’s literally bouncing off the walls, and she tailors every lesson to fit him perfectly. He used to avoid writing and spelling causing huge meltdowns, but now he’s constantly scribbling notes and lists for me, asking questions, and has gained so much confidence. I’m so grateful for Katie, her skills go way beyond her education, and it’s a real testament to her determination to help kids succeed.Posted on Google Angel CamachoTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Our family is so happy to have been able to have the expert guidance from Katie of New Leaf Literacy. I have 2 daughters with dyslexia and have sought her assistance as a Special Education Advocate. Frequently, I have felt quite overwhelmed with all of challenges of navigating the IEP/504 process with our public school system and she has assisted and supported me immensely. She has joined virtual IEP meetings and helped secure the services my child needed and deserved. Without this expert advocacy, my daughter wouldn’t be as fluent of a reader. Our family is forever grateful! .Posted on Google Lauren BarkerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We are so grateful to have found Katie! Katie tutors 2 of my neurodiverse kids that not only struggled with reading, but was lacking the confidence to continue trying. Katie has been an incredible support building their confidence back up, while providing the best approach for them to learn.Posted on Google Aly HoweTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
